Campbell Boys Lacrosse

Mission

The Campbell High School Spartans Boy's Lacrosse program is committed to excellence in sportsmanship, academics, training, field play, and community service.  Our Coaches emphasize the importance of being scholar athletes and impart values that guide our players to be role models on and off the field.

The Spartans Lacrosse team players recognize that they are representatives not only of the team, but also of the school and the sport.  As a team we have placed a special emphasis on giving back to the community and furthering lacrosse in the community.

Academics, determination, commitment

Academics are a serious priority for Campbell High School boys’ lacrosse players. The coaches emphasize the importance of being scholar athletes and impart values that guide the players to be role models on and off the field. For instance, the players often participate in study halls before practices and prior to games. Many of our returning players have qualified for Honor Roll.

The players apply a similar dedication to their sport. In the past few years, the Campbell High School boys’ lacrosse team had extremely challenging seasons with very few wins. The boys’ response was to push themselves harder. They regularly arrived before school to lift weights and to practice field skills. The team played fall lacrosse, participated in player development sessions and played extra games outside of their normal spring schedule. Their hard work and commitment is making a difference. The past two seasons have seen the boys qualify for the State playoffs!

Community Service

The Spartans Lacrosse team players recognize that they are representatives not only of the team but of the school and the sport. As a team, the players have placed a special emphasis on giving back to the community. They participate in several service projects during each school semester.  Members of the team began their community service this school year working with The Sandwich Project and making sandwiches for the food insecure in the Atlanta area. Other service projects planned for this year include Trunk or Treat with a local church, stocking the high school community closet with school supplies, and leading the gift card collections for Holiday-Adopt-a-Student.

Service projects in the past few years have included: collecting books for The Africa Project, making Valentine’s Day cards for seniors in an assisted living community, and raising money for Toys for Tots by participating in the Reindeer Games lacrosse tournament.

What's next?

The CHS Boys' Lacrosse team is growing! The team has actively sought new members and has a large freshman and sophomore presence, many of whom are new to the sport. Learning lacrosse takes time and dedication, but the new players under the leadership of the more experienced players are learning the skills and strategies to develop individually and as a team.

Lacrosse in Smyrna! Campbell High School does not have middle school "feeder" lacrosse teams. Our goal this year is to plant the seeds of a Campbell youth lacrosse program by offering clinics and reaching out to local middle schools. We are excited to introduce lacrosse to the youth in our area. There's a reason lacrosse is one of the fastest growing youth sports - IT'S FUN!
